"I am a bird now, am i ?"

In many cultures humans have tried to understand that question of humans origin and its relation with nature by creating many symbols with each own meaning. Some symbols are created form many kind of animals images. Each images symbolize humans faculty or ability. This symbols reflect a kind of relationship between humans and nature or animals. A form relationship that also reflect a question to understand the meaning of our existence, how are human being created?, what is humans origin? And so on.
One of the symbols is the birds symbols. In many cultures birds have always been regarded with wonder because of their ability to fly. In myth they were considered messengers between humans and deities. Deities (gods and goddess) took the form of birds to travel through the havens and earth. Birds have been identified as being an emanation of departed souls.
The idea of this exhibition was came through this story. I was so interested in how humans took birds images as symbols for their everyday life. Bird is a creature that can stand on the ground (and even some can dive into the water) build their nest on the trees and can stay in the air. I think this ability is one of the reason why humans took birds in symbols. To symbolize human` s desire to communicate with the spiritual realm, and also a desire to go beyond the earth that bound every human with gravity. This exhibition is about creating a room of reflection on this kind of relationship that is always being filled with mystery and myth. The title “I am a bird now, am i ?” is a form of statement and at the same time also a question for myself and other people too about our own origin, and the answer of that question can be found in many ways depend on what is on every peoples mind.
